Error when accessing a path

Problem:
When building the website, the program crashes with a run time error.

Solution:

The reason might be that you chose the same folder for the project data and the generated files. It is absolutely essential that you store your project data and the sites in separate folders. If this is not the case, select a different folder to contain the generated output files by going to "File"->"Web site and FTP properties"->"Build" and clicking on "Save built pages in". This might also be the reason for the upload-related problems.

If the problem persists, you can try to trace it back to one of the following reasons:

Access blocked by your antivirus software

Description:
Sometimes antivirus programs (especially AntiVir) can interfere while web to date is building your project. web to date stores project data in an internal MS Access database (main.mdb). When the program connects to it to build the project, the access can be blocked by the antivirus software scanning the database for malicious content.

Solution:
We recommend that you turn off virus scanning whilst building a project or even before you run web to date. Alternatively, you can configure your antivirus software to skip web to date project folders during the scans (if your software scanner allows such configuration).

Tip: If you use the default paths for storing your project data and generated websites, you can find your projects in "My Documents\web to date Projects\My Project" and the generated web pages in "My Documents\Built web sites\My Project".

The Temp folder is full

Description:
The project data can't be buffered during the website building because the respective Temp folder contains too many files.

Solution:
Navigate to the current user folder with Windows Explorer (in most cases "C:\Documents and Settings\User name\"). Go to the folder "Local Settings\Temp" and delete its complete content.

If you can't find the folder "Local Settings" in your user folder click on "Tools" -> "Folder Options" in Windows Explorer, to "View" and select the option "Show hidden files and folders".

After you have emptied the Temp folder, try to build you project again.

Insufficient disk space

Description:
The available space on the disk the generated web pages should be stored on is not enough to accommodate all created data. (To check on which disk the selected target folder is located click on "File"->"Web site and FTP Properties"->"Build" and check the "General Settings" area.)

Solution:
You can specify a folder on a different disk in the Field "Save built pages in" of the "General Settings area". Alternatively you can delete or move some data from the disk.
