Concise hierarchal structure
You want to present text or images in a concise hierarchal structure? Web to date provides you with the plug-in "Tree view" which allows you to place as many themes and subthemes as well as an image and text for each one. The subthemes are displayed indented. Text and images only become visible when the visitor clicks the relevant theme header. This allows you to use space efficiently and easily structure your content. The number of subthemes or the "depth" of the branches is unlimited.

Good and comprehensive content
The recipe for a successful website is good and comprehensive content. So that your website doesn’t appear crowded, despite using various text, images, and videos etc. Web to date offers you an accordion view, in other words content can be grouped into thematic blocks with a suitable header. To begin with visitors will only be able to see the headers with a click these will expand and show the hidden content.

The accordion view is extremely flexible: its compatible will all paragraph formats and plug-ins in Web to date 8 making it extremely versatile. In addition, you can individually select which theme blocks are already expanded and which are collapsed when a page is opened.

The best part is, so long as you have defined the various categories and information using the dynamic properties feature, summaries will be generated automatically. Additionally you can create an advanced search where visitors can filter according to categories e.g. all 3 bedroom properties with 2 bathrooms.

Customizing your text
With Web to date 8 customizing your text to fit your wants and needs is even easier then before. For each set text you can alter text size and colour, but now you can format the paragraphs and the alignment. In addition you can automatically choose to have all characters appear as uppercase.

Smartphone layout with automatic redirect
More and more users are accessing websites via iPhones, iPads or other mobile devices. Web to date 8 ensures that your website is perfectly compatible with these devices. If desired, Web to date 8 can create a layout version that is optimized for mobile devices such as iPhone etc. You can hide any content that you do not want to show or cannot be shown on mobile devices

If your website is opened via a mobile device the user will automatically be directed to the mobile version of your site. Alternatively you can configure Web to date 8 to ask the user whether they wish to view the original website or the mobile version.

Integrate and publish text and images online
You want to manage your content remotely but do not have access to the actual project/your Web to date version? You want to allow an editor or co-author to manage certain areas of your website texts or content, without granting them access to the entire project?

Then the new plug-in "Online editing", is perfect for you! Text and images can be created online and edited or deleted from every computer, tablet-pc or smart phone. Simply place the plug-in where ever you would like to be able to manage and update texts or images. In order to add or delete images you need to sign in using the secure and hidden log in area, now you can have access to your content anywhere and anytime! Thanks to administration rights you always have control over who else has access and is able to make edits.
Content that has been edited online will automatically be synchronised, the next time you upload your website, with the to date project on your hard drive, this means you will always be working with the latest version. If you integrate images via the plug-in they will automatically be formatted to the right size, it doesn’t get any simpler then that!

Secure your website project online
The back up options in Web to date 8 have been developed further. In addition to the manuals and time set backups you now have the option to secure your whole website project on your web space. Even if there was a problem with your hard drive you would still have access to your project data. The first time you wish to secure your site online all data will be uploaded, from then on you can choose to only secure any new data or changes since the last upload. This cuts down the upload time.

Give instructions to search engines
Are there areas of your website that you don’t want search engines to capture and to list in search results? Do you offer a mobile version of your website that you want to exclude in order to avoid getting down listed in Google etc. due to double content?

You can give these instructions to search engines with the help of robots.txt. Instead of having to manually programme this data which can take time, you can allow Web to date 8 to create it for you – programming knowledge isn’t required.

You have multiple domains? Simply determine which domain or website versions is the most important, and which only contains copied content.
If your website can be found at more then one domain or you perhaps offer a printer friendly version of your site, you run the risk of getting down listed in Google & Co. The search engines recognise the duplicate text and assume that it is "double content" that has just been copied.

With the "Canonical URL" feature you can eliminate this problem, simply decide which of your domains or website versions is the most important and which is just copied content. This prevents you from being down listed and will help you in your efforts to have a high ranking in Google.

Automatically translate your page in up to 60 different languages
If it’s not worth while for you to present you website in other languages, but you have the occasional foreign speaking visitor, then the "Google Translate" plug-in is ideal. It allows visitors to automatically translate your page into up to 60 languages and as the administrator you can of course select which languages are permitted. Even if the translation is not of the same quality as a native speaker it is still a great help for those that do not speak the language your content is presented in.

Search term prediction
Web to date 8 now also offers a search term prediction using common search terms, similar to that used by Google etc. As soon as a visitor has typed the first few letters of a word, the first six hits are displayed automatically. If the right suggestion is displayed they can select it directly.

This new plug-in for animated picture presentations is perfect for product packages and the latest releases. The images you choose will be ordered in a 360° circle and can be rotated. If the visitor moves the cursor over one of the images it will enlarge and by clicking it will link them to another page. This plug-in instantly gives your website a modern feel.

You can also customize the text e.g. font, colour and alignment to how you would like.

And the best part is: thanks to the latest HTML5 technology, the image and text are kept separate but for the viewer appear as one. This is a great advantage when it comes to search engine optimization, as the text can easily be detected by Google etc.
